This is an air intake for Formula Student Vehicle that i built with my college team.  I designed it on solidworks and simulation was done on Hyperworks. Since the plenum and the venturi of the intake have a complex design and are very difficult to manufacture through subtractive manufacturing , decision of 3D printing the entire assembly was taken. 3D printing allowed us to make the intake lighter by almost 65% when compared to a metal intake and also the manufacturing was relatively easy since all we had to do was give appropriate commands to the 3D printer. ABS filament was used to print the intake as it is much stronger than PLA and high heat resistant too.
